Chairperson
To lead the committee in the management of Clubs affairs To represent the Club
General Secretary
To act as general correspondent for the ClubTo record and distribute minutes of general committee meetings and AGMs, EGMs & SGMs as necessary To notify members and friends of the Club of all Club meetings and events in accordance with the rules To hold copies of the official business conducted by the Club To provide copies of rules, fixture lists, forms and correspondence as required
Treasurer
To act as the financial officer of the Club To advise the executive committee with regard to the financial standing of the Club To maintain accounting records of each financial year and present audited accounts prior to an AGM To recommend to the executive committee any matters of finances in regard to income & expenditure To suggest levels of annual subscription and match fee
Fixture Secretary
To arrange cricket matches for the number of teams elected at the AGM To correspond with those teams during the course of the season to ensure fixtures are to be upheld To advise details of venues to the Captains or Vice-Captains To act as point of contact prior to the game should adverse weather prevail
Social Secretary
To propose social events to satisfy the social calendar of the Club To propose fund-raising events to fulfil the financial requirements of the Club To organise agreed social and fund-raising events for the Club
League Representative
To be the first point of contact for the League committee(s) To manage the supply of information to and from the League committee(s) To refer all related matters to the appropriate Club officer(s) at the earliest possible opportunity To make all reasonable efforts to attend relevant League Meetings
Child Welfare Officer
To be responsible for the well-being of all Club young players participating in Club events To ensure that the Club adheres to the requirements and directives of all appropriate bodies regarding young players
Bar Manager
To manage the bar stock To provide the Treasurer with details of bar income & expenditure To ensure the security of bar stockTo ensure that the bar area and stock rooms are kept clean, dry and tidy To ensure that access to the bar is available when required To arrange for the bar takings to be given to the Club Treasurer at the earliest opportunity
Webmaster
To provide and maintain a Club website that meets the requirements of the Executive Committee
Club Captain
To advise the Team Captains on the selection of team players To provide recommendations for individual player participation in matches To perform regular reviews of the Match Day Rules To propose suitable amendments to the Match Day Rules as and when necessary
Team Captains
•In General: To select the team in conjunction with the Club Captain and relevant other Team Captains To advise those players concerned of their selection To ensure that the match results are given to the Webmaster for posting on the Club website To ensure that match reports are given to the Webmaster for posting on the Club website
•League Matches: To ensure that the league result and scorecard is provided to the league in good time
•On Match Days (all matches): To be responsible for the conduct of Merton Cricket Club members at the ground To ensure full compliance with the current ECB directives regarding young players To appoint a Vice-Captain in the Team Vice-Captain’s temporary absence To ensure that Club equipment is available for individual use To arrange for the collection of match fees (teas) To arrange for all monies collected to be given to the Club Treasurer at the earliest opportunity To ensure that the team first aid kit is available
•On Match Days (home matches): To arrange for the Clubhouse to be opened in time for the home match preparations To arrange for the Clubhouse to be locked and fully secured when vacated To arrange for the collection of the opposition’s tea monies
•On Match Days (away matches): To arrange transport to ensure that all playing members arrive at the match venue in good time To arrange transport to ensure that all playing members return home following the game To arrange payment of tea monies to the opposition
Team Vice-Captain
To undertake the roles & responsibilities of the Team Captain in his/her absence
Players
To advise the Team Captain of his/her availability for forth-coming matches at the earliest opportunity To advise the Team Captain of his/her non-availability at the earliest opportunity following selection To adhere to the official Merton Cricket Club Match Day Rules
